ChewYings are in the process of developing a social franchise model which will give the franchisor an opportunity to run a commercial business whilst contributing to the social advancement of the local area.

The idea of a "social" franchise is difficult to explain. The first thing that comes to most peoples' minds when they hear 'franchise' are large fast food chains such as McDonalds or KFC. Obviously this is purely a commercial, profit making enterprise and a very successful one at that.

Whilst CLH is a profitable, commercially viable business, it also has another equally important motivational factor and that is to be socially responsible and provide gainful employment to disadvantaged people.

It is unique in that, while companies such as McDonalds do provide employment opportunities to people with disabilities, these people make up only a small percentage of their total workforce. At CLH 100% of people who work with us are disadvantaged in some way. It has been proven over the past 12 years that this concept can and does work on a commercial and social basis.

We are in the process of developing a social model which will give  organisations the opportunity to operate a commercial business while contributing to the social advancement of their local area without the need for funding or government intervention.
